Aleph

Psalm 119 is the longest chapter of any book in the Bible.  If you are not one that enjoys poems or riddles, it can be hard to get through.  It is sectioned off by the Hebrew alphabet.  The Hebrew lettering comes from the Egyptian hieroglyphs.
I am breaking it up section by section to make it easier to get through.  There are eight versus per section, so it makes it easier to digest.  Each section focuses on a certain word: instruction, decree, precept, statue, command, judgment, promise, and word.  Today we are beginning with Alpha or Aleph.
Aleph begins with the basics or at the beginning of how to live for God.  It is about living a blameless life by following God's instructions.  Basically what the Christian lifestyle should look like.  It is a sincere and transparent life, but totally committed.
The heart needs to earnestly yearn for God.  It doesn't mean that you will never do anything wrong, but you recognize it for what it is and you try to change.  You look at your faults and personally inspect them.  Are they truly faults by Biblical terms or are they faults by human's definition?
If you follow God with a steadfast heart, then you will be saved from shaming yourself.  It leads to a life of praise and getting to know Him differently over time.  His ways are better than our ways and He will never forsake you.  No one can beat that.
