Trust God for Redemption

Trusting God is something you hear about all your life if you grow up in church.  It sounds so simple, but it can be very hard at times.  Sometimes it feels like you are left out in the dark to figure things out for yourself.  That is a time of testing.  You either choose to trust God to guide you or to handle the situation.  The other option is that you choose self reliance or rely on someone else to take care of you.  Trusting God is your choice to make.
When you experience a soul wound the only way it will ever heal is if you trust God.  Cry out to Him in the depths of your despair and He will redeem you from what is causing the pain.  In time, you will be able to remember without it hurting, but the event will change you and shape who you will become.  In some cases it is almost like you need to change your name because you feel like a completely different person.
Change takes time, but time does not guarantee healing.  You have to trust in God to find healing.  It will be subtle and slow.  It will not happen over night.  That is why so many people become bitter, angry, or scared.  Those are familiar feelings that make a person feel like they are in control.  It is not until time passes will they see how destructive that path is.
Hope opens the door to real healing.  Hope is when the soul cries out to God for mercy and expects Him to provide.  You have to accept what happened to you and ask for forgiveness for anything you may have done on your own without him to try to heal yourself.  It is hard for a victim to realize that they may have sinned too.  Once you confess, you can accept God's unfailing hope.  The longer you hold out the harder it is to accept, but it is never too late as long as you are alive.

Psalm 130
