How can you have wisdom against folly or being your own worst enemy? You have to understand what folly is. Folly is lack of good sense or acting foolishly. We all lack good sense in one area or another. We usually are not aware of it. It takes good people to point it out to us and then work and prayer to change things. Wisdom is not putting your security into other people, but God.
Start gaining wisdom against folly by educating yourself in God's Word and seeing what are your weaknesses. A covenant is a serious thing. If you make a covenant with anyone it should never be broken. That is why you need to be careful on what kind of covenants you make and with whom. They can bring harm upon yourself if you are not careful. Some people will ensnare you through a pledge and you are at their mercy.
When you feel trapped, scared, confused, or lost pray to God to free you. Do not rest until your free from the snare. Work hard in life, but make sure that it has purpose. Do not be the person that has to be reminded, encouraged, or forced to work. Be proactive and work with integrity. You don't need people to tell you how to live, do it for yourself to honor God.
God provides for those that are not lazy, stir dissension, or cause disaster. God hates vanity, lies, destruction of innocence, a wicked heart, false witnesses, and trouble-makers. He will work against them. These people are worthless and not worth your time and energy to be wasted on them. Get too close and calamity may fall upon you too.
To gain wisdom against folly is to bind God's Word into your heart, so when temptation comes you can remember why you don't want to fall prey to it. It will guide you to light and a thriving life. Immorality leads to lust and over time it will lead you to a sinful lifestyle. That cost is too high. The punishment is too severe. It also displays a lack of judgment as it destroys your life. It doesn't just hurt you, but your family too. They will have to bare your shame as if it were their own.
