Condemnation is the expression of very strong disapproval or censure. When God condemns it is a sentencing. He provided Jesus for us to be able to have mercy because none of us are good enough. We have all been affected and influenced by sin which taints our soul. Jesus's sacrifice is the only thing that cleanses and purifies it. This is the story of the fourth woe in this series: woe of independence.
Egypt was a nation that seemed all powerful to the Jews. They decided to seek shelter there without consulting God. This is sin. We are all required to consult life and national planning with God. It is a sin to faithfully follow people instead of Him. He had a plan and they needed to make sure their plan aligned. This independence from God brought judgment upon Egypt and His people.
Egypt that had been so mysterious, proud, and rich became useless and helpless. Humiliation and disgrace came upon all of them as none of their endeavors were profitable. The rebellious were deceived. They only wanted the pleasant parts of life, so God stopped them and forced them to face hardship. The punishment for ignoring the Holy Spirit is oppression. Their world fell apart around them. As it crumbled they had to reconsider all their choices and think about how it all happened.
God provided salvation that gives His followers rest through repentance. His strength is quiet and trustworthy. God desires to be gracious and compassionate, but He can't allow sin to overrun the world. For the people that fight sin and chose His precious gift, they will have their tears dried in Heaven.
God has given us the direction, it is our choice to follow them to Heaven's gates. He gives mercy to the people that listen to His voice and obey. The condemned can have mercy through salvation. There we will have everything we need for eternity. Everything will be brighter, purer, cleaner, and we will all be healed from all of our wounds or scars.
To reject God is to chose the pit. It has been ready for a very long time to receive everyone. It burns strong and the fires will never be quenched. The more souls that go in the hotter it will become. It is a pity because no one has to go there. However, eventually all the enemies of God will end up there.
Isaiah 30
