God spent the entire first half of the Bible introducing Himself and telling you how much He loves His people. He revealed what He is willing to do and what He expects from people. The prophet portion of the Bible is a little different. They had a closer connection where God did not hold back. He showed them how bad things could be and what He would do if people decided to trust Him. Isaiah is just the first in Bible as He talks about the fifth woe: trusting foreign nations over Him.
When we chose to trust people over trusting God, then the battle is lost before it ever began. It is the battle field, no matter where or format, is where God really shows up. To rely on people over God can be deadly when it backfires. It can cost many lives including your own. He has the power to take you into the bloodiest battle and no one in your group even get a bruise. With God you don't have to worry about PTSD or other emotional or physical scars. Trust Him and He will take care of you.
The world may seem wise. The people you look up to may seem powerful or all knowing, but if you put your trust in them over God then it will be disastrous. People, society, or the governments are just are not capable of doing what God does. Trust Him and He will show up in a big way. He will be your shield.
God is so good that He is willing to take what we condemn as the worst possible people and forgive them. He is willing to erase all their sins just like yours. He is willing to take the people that rebelled and returned in repentance. He will do what is right in every situation. Instead of getting hung up on what you may not understand, focus on your own issues. Make sure you remove idols and all other distractions from your life, so that you can clearly focus on Him.
There is no need to live a hopeless life. Don't let the world be a strangling stronghold on your life. The world will bring terror into your heart and soul. God brings peace, patience, and love. It is your choice on which one you will trust.
Isaiah 31
