Babylon was a power player in the days of Isaiah. They were known as strong warriors. Yet God gave Isaiah a vision of their terror. God ended the people that were traitors and brought pain to the bullies. At this point it was hard for Isaiah to see anymore.
When God was done with Babylon all they had was fear. They began to keep an eye out for what God would do. They watched in terror. Waiting can be the most agonizing part. It led to some to take action and flee. However, the fall of Babylon was inevitable after they crushed God's people.
Whatever God says will come to pass will happen. Nothing we say or do will change that. It is like a law of nature, like gravity. We have to conquer our fear and trust God. If you align yourself with Him, then you really don't have anything to fear about the future because He has already state His promises to followers.
Isaiah 21
