Prophecy of Tyre

The vision that Isaiah had of Tyre was something that would make a movie worth watching, full of action.  However in real life, it was horrible to see.  I wonder if he ever saw faces that he knew, or if it was more of an overview of scenes.  Either way knowing all these visions would happen would have to change a person.
Tyre was destroyed and left with no harbor which means even their islands were affected.  It was the destruction of the Phoenician Empire.  The people went silent in their shame as they fled to Tarshish (Canaan territory).  Their destruction hurt Egypt which was all part of God's plan.  It was a domino affect.  As one fell, they all fell, but it led to an united humbling.  They saw first hand who really controlled the world.
God made the kingdom tremble.  He gave no rest or hiding.  Tyre would be forgotten completely for 70 years, then God would deal with them.  They would be so desperate that they would be like prostitutes.  The area is now known as Spain (Tartessus).  This destruction happened a few hundred years after Isaiah had the vision, but about 300 years before Jesus was born.
The people turned to God.  Their profits and wages went to God to live before Him in exchange for clothes and food.  It would be restored when they turned to God.  God blesses and protects His children, but we should go to Him out of devotion not wanting things, even the most vital things.
We all have to start somewhere.  God will punish His children as needed or allow us to go through hard times to serve His purpose.  We don't tend to learn as well when life is comfortable or good, but the goal has always been to restore His people.  He wants a relationship, not servitude.
