Contrast to God

 

    What do you think is in contrast with God?  Contrast is the state of being strikingly different from something in close relation.  That means that anything that falls under the title of sin, it is in contrast with God.  When we try to make ourselves a god or chose another god before Him, then we are living our lives in contrast with God.  

    God keeps emphasizing this because we hear what the world has to say day in and day out.  He wants us to be in control over what we hear.  He wants us to tune out the world, so that we can be fine tuned to His voice.  This will not happen over night.  It takes discipline and determination.  In contrast you can to listen to worthless information all day long that builds up a vanity within.

    Don't follow worthless customs or fear harmless idols.  They are in direct contrast to God and He holds all the real power.  His very name holds power, so why do you fear what people will do or say?  God's power will endure for eternity.  That should empower you if you are a follower of God.  If you are not, then you should be afraid.  He has the power over your eternity because His strength will never fail.

    Man made gods will perish.  They will disappear and become myth.  In contrast, God is alive.  He will never die or disappear.  Learning His power gives you the wisdom to understand.  It gives you the strength to endure anything because you understand that everything outside of God is senseless.  You may have knowledge, but without wisdom it holds no power.  

    A life that invites God's judgment is a stressful life.   The world will take everything from you.  What will you have left?  If you follow God, then you still have everything that matters.  God is trying to speak to you.  Will you listen?  Will you take personal responsibility for your choices?  

    The most important thing you can do in your life is to get to know God and build a real relationship.  It will be the most important one you will ever have.  Invite God's correction into your life to seek justice and not anger.  It will not be easy, but when you come through it you will be this amazing person.  However, it is far better than not to address it today and wait until judgment day when God's wrath pours out onto the Earth.

    Give God room to do His job.  Don't try to micromanage God.  He doesn't micromanage your life, even when it is in contrast to His path for you.  Stop destroying what He created.  There is a price to living in contrast with God, but He will never force you to be different.
