Prepare for the Future

No one knows what the future holds, but it exist.  God knows exactly what is in store for your future.  That is why you need to pray over it and discuss your plans with Him.  He will shut doors and open others  to give you direction, but it is still your choice to enter those doors or not.  If He tells you to invest into something that doesn't make sense do it.  He has the reason and you will figure it out eventually.
When you follow God and speak the truth it offends people.  It makes some people angry.  These people may make your life very difficult.  When Jeremiah did, he found himself in prison.  Don't worry about people.  Don't let them get under your skin.  God will take care of them.  Your focus is to stay true to God by speaking what He commands and following His instructions.
Talk to God about your concerns, pain, joy, excitement, and everything else.  He want to hear your voice.  He wants to hear you tell Him about what is on your mind and in your heart.  Praise God, thank Him, and Worship Him throughout all life events.  Recognize what He has done and is capable of doing.  Nothing is too difficult for Him.  He sees everything, but He wants to hear it from you.
Jeremiah prophesied about true redemption that came from Jesus and people didn't understand.  While he was in prison, Jeremiah's cousin came to him asking him to buy his field because God's judgment had begun, so he did.  He knew this was a gift from God  He had witnesses.  He did everything by the book.  It was all legal.  He had the deed placed in a jar to be hidden for a long time (like the dead sea scroll).  Then He praised God.  It seemed crazy to buy land as the entire nation was losing everything.
God performed miracles and signs of wonder from Egypt until this point in history.  He was faithful even when His people failed Him.  It eventually led to the people losing and being exiled.  Their land burned to destroy the abhorrent things that His people chose over Him.  He did all of this so that they would turn back to Him.  He never gave up on them.
God promised to gather His people.  He promised them safety.  He promised us to be His people and He our God.  He promised integrity of heart and action to remove fear.  He made a permanent covenant.  He promised delight and a permanent home.  The land that Jeremiah bought was symbol of that promise.  It was Jeremiah's act to prepare for the future.
