Babylon Judged

 

    Babylon was an unstoppable force.  No one wanted to go against them.  Their name brought fear which was powerful according to world standards.  However, the element that everyone seems to forget is God.  He is the true unstoppable force.  He holds the power.

    God sent the Spirit of the Destroyer to go against Babylon.  The unknown people that feared them now came an stripped their land bare.  Disaster came at them from every angle.  The only way to survive was to leave.  Babylon went mad, fell, and woefully scattered.  They didn't stand a chance once God turned against them.  Nothing could save the nation now.

    Babylon became a symbol to the world of what God can do.  Anyone that was a witness would tell the story of what had done.  Even today, we can tell the story of what God does in and for our lives.  The Babylonians acted on knowledge and wisdom of world.  They did not understand God's wisdom and it made them look stupid. It led to their judgment which was a land laid to waste and all their strength taken.

    In 549 BC, Persia inflicted God's judgment on Babylon.  They rose to power in the world and Babylon lost their power.  The fear grew as Ararat (Turkey), Minni(Iran), and Ashkenaz (Iran) joined in the fight against Babylon.  They wasted their energy and resources fighting against God.  Once God decides things are going to be a certain way, nothing can change it.
