Prophecy Against Nations Part 6

 

    The last nation for Jeremiah to prophecy judgment was on Babylon.  Babylon was the nation used to basically inflict God's judgment on all the other nations, including His own people.  Yet, they never recognized His part in their victory.  They were arrogant and arrogance is always punished.  Their arrogance led them to other sin that God would not tolerate.

    Babylon was prophesied to be captured.  Who ever was not killed would flee.  God would rise up His people again.  The Israelites and Judeans would come together and become Jews.  United they sought God again.  God's people had been led astray wondering around with no leader, but that did not last forever.

    Babylon was disgraced and became desolate.  They blamed God's for the predicament His people were in.  They took no responsibility for the harm and pain the Jews endured.  They accused God of forsaking them.  God would not tolerate that.  His wrath poured out against them because He will always the the strong defender for His people.  He had Assyria crush Babylon.

    God's people returned to Him and their sins forgotten.  They escaped their insolent, defiant, arrogant captures.  When it was over there was only contempt for Babylon.  They were destroyed like Sodom and Gomorrah to never recover.  God had taken the time to strategize against them.  They had no chance.
