The Ammon nation was judged for joining Judah in the revolt against Babylon in 587BC and worshipping Molech. They became a mound of ruins in 582BC. The surrounding villages burned. Everyone ran around in confusion not knowing what to do. Like Moab and Elam, Moab would be restored one day.
Edom's was destroyed and striped bare. This nation was descendants of Esau. They were subject to more judgment prophecies than other nations, but Jeremiah was softer with them than other nations. Their wisdom did not serve them well. No one could hide, but God did protect the widows and orphans. The point is that they were cursed. Arrogance deceived their hearts. God chased after them as an eagle or lion with his prey.
Damascus became feeble and the people ran as it burned. The Assyrians conquered them in 738 BC. Their rebellion was crushed in 720 BC. Then Babylon captured it in 605 BC. Israel, Moab, Edom, and Babylon all had a part in their judgment.
Kedar and Hazor were destroyed. The were nomadic people that sheep herder and skilled in archery. They ran in terror as they tried to escape quickly from Babylon. They were judged for raiding God's people. They were met with calamity at every border. No one would ever stay in Hazor even for a short time.
Elam was the first of Shem's sons, the nation was his descendants. It was an ancient kingdom. They too were skilled archers. Elam's strength was broken before they were destroyed because God's anger burned against them. They were absorbed by Persia in 539 BC. However, in the last days their fortune will be restored like Israel, Moab, Ammon, and Egypt.
