Ezekiel didn't have one vision to change his life and affect everyone else. He had a few. They continued over the years. After his vision of the end of Israel, he did not have another vision for six years. Then a Spirit came to Ezekiel in his home. He looked like a man, but from the waist down was fire and the waist up was like a bright amber.
Once again the Spirit lifted Ezekiel, but this time it took Ezekiel to the space between heaven and earth. This time Ezekiel was lifted by the hair. Again, he had to be physically uncomfortable, if not in pain, for the point to make full impact.
After Ezekiel was taken to the in-between, the Spirit took him to Jerusalem. There Ezekiel again saw God in His glory. God spoke to Ezekiel to display the people's detestable acts. He had Ezekiel look to the north to see Altar Gate Entrance. Then, Ezekiel was taken to the court where Ezekiel dug into the wall. He found a doorway in which he entered. When he did he saw the true evil of the nation led by the elders (nation's leaders).
Next came the inner court to find the people worshipping the sun in God's House. They worshipped something God created instead of God Himself. There was about 25 men that represented the House of Judah.
The land was filled with violence. Their actions angered God. How would you feel if someone came onto your property and vandalized it or violated explicit boundaries? God had it happen in His home repeatedly. Of course He was angry. This is why God would not listen to the people's cries. This is why He let loose His wrath.
