God Spoke to Ezekiel about Edom. They were enemies of God for rejoicing when Judah and Israel fell. He did not only destroy them, but he desolated them. It went down in 126 BC after everyone else recovered and was doing well.
The Edomites hated Israel. It began in Rebecca's womb with Jacob and Esau and grew over the generations. Hatred is a sin that leads to bloodshed. They were slaughtered to the point that their home became uninhabitable. That means it happened more than once. The punishment was perpetual.
The Edomites blasphemed against God. God had no choice but to make an example out of them. One way or another they would acknowledge who God is. God's judgment on Edom was a curse that settled on them until the time was right for it to happen. Edom celebrated when God's people fell. In return the world celebrated when they fell. Hate is a curse.
