God's House

 

    It has been 12 years since Ezekiel's last vision when God gave him a vision of God's new home in Israel.  It was a very detailed temple.  Ezekiel received the vision in the 25th year of exile, but only 14 years since Jerusalem was captured.  The timing of the vision was around the Jubilee year,  There was not mistake on the point of the vision: hope and freedom.

    In the vision, Ezekiel was met by a man of bronze (probably an angel).  He told Ezekiel to take in what he saw, listen to all he could hear, and pay attention so he could give a thorough report.  It was comparable to Solomon's Temple.  The tours focus was on the inner court.  It had a sacrificial room for restitution. The purpose was purity.  The priest has to be pure before they could enter the Holy of Holy rooms (presence of God).

    Ezekiel told everyone what he saw.  He gave them intricate details, so that they would know it was true.  He even knew the number of steps and furnishing.  He even knew the measurements of the walls.
