Immorality

    God gave His people everything, then Samaria and Jerusalem (two sisters) began to prostitute themselves.  Samaria wanted what the Assyrians had. but ended up giving themselves over to Egypt.  God decided it was time to hand them over to their punishment.  The idolatry is immoral.  Immorality is odious to God and eventually will be destroyed.  The people Samaria gave themselves over to were disgusted and killed them.

    Jerusalem watched all this happen, but their lust was too depraved and they went even further.  They defiled themselves to the Assyrians, Chaldeans, and Babylonians.  Once they had they were disgusted, but they still turned to Egypt and everyone turned against Jerusalem.  Jerusalem's down fall came from the political aspect of prostitution.  God has to work directly in the government for it to work.  The alternative is bloodshed.

    God is jealous, not like us, but He wants to be able to take care of you.  If you refuse to let Him, then He has to watch you self-destruct and it makes Him angry because he provided a different way.  Until lewd behavior stops, God's jealous anger will not cease.  The lewd behaviors contains drunkenness, independence, self-destruction, desolation,  self-pity, idolatry, child-sacrifice, and adultery.

    God's people forgot about Him.  The consequences were that they were left to their own self-destructive paths.  Things would not get better, only worse and worse because they were adulterous.  God is the same today as He always has been.  If we act adulterously, then we should be filled with terror and our lives are plundered because God will end lewdness and idolatry.  We will remember who God is one day and immorality will be over.
