Reunification is the restoration of political unity to a place or group, like a divided territory. Ezekiel saw reunification between Israel and Judah. He saw a vision of them becoming Jews under a covenant with God.
In Ezekiel's vision he was placed in a valley full of bones. God asked Ezekiel if the bones could live again. Since Ezekiel believed in miracles, his reply was that it was up to God. God spoke life into the bones and they were restored according to God's power. He breathed life into them, so that they would know who He is.
Ezekiel had the Holy Spirit within him so that he could understand what he was seeing. It meant that God's people did not need a king or political leader. God is our leader, our king. The bones represented the curse of unfaithfulness and judgment. However, a person that we may think is beyond saving still can be saved. A nation can be reborn.
God's people would no longer be two nations. They would no longer be backslidden. God restored and sanctified them. All of God's people will be restored and healed. God made a covenant of eternal peace that was carried out by Jesus. At this time, it was just a promise that unified God's people. God is the permanent sanctuary.
