False Hope

 

    When people break God's covenant, they are rejecting what is good in life.  They rebel against God's laws which are good.  They stop, or don't bother, seeking His guidance on how best live.  Then, the same people are surprised when God is angry.  They think God is only supposed to love and give goodness in the world.  How can he get angry? 

    On our own we are incapable of living a pure life.  People have naturally adulterous hearts.  On our own, we choose the worthless idols that destroy our lives.  We hand over our innocence to fit or belong in this world.  We choose leaders that will destroy us with the burden that they add into our lives.  

    God will gather nations and let them waste away due to their impurity because God does not forget the wickedness of the world.  He has given us instructions on how to live a long and healthy life, yet we regard them as strange.  It seems alarming when evil and wickedness are punished.  We have to remember our guilt to be able to change.  We have to God for salvation to be able to start real change.  Any other way of life is a false hope.
