Christians are tested. We live in the same fallen world as everyone else, but we have a few challenges that are different. That is why the choices that we make are so important, like marriage, church, family, and career. How you prioritize them declares what matters and what will succeed in life.
Marriage is a sacred union between a man and a woman with God tying them together. You no longer get to live your life for yourself. You life is supposed to be devoted to God and your spouse. God has some very strong views on the subject because how you treat your marriage is how you treat Him. If you take your marriage for granted then you are taking God for granted. If you are unfaithful to your spouse, then you are being unfaithful to God. There is no division. Divorce is permitted because we have hard hearts.
If you chose to divorce and you get remarried, then it is considered adultery unless the reasons for divorce were for unfaithfulness. Unfaithfulness is the act of adultery, porn, strip joints, or anything else that allows your mind and body to be removed from your marriage. An emotional affair that never consummates can hurt your spouse almost as if you had cheated. Adultery plays with the lives of the people you declare to love most.
Jesus added that another sin that Christians need to watch out for is being a blocker. Don't hinder children from having a relationship with Jesus. Don't get in the way of anyone getting close to Jesus. We all need him and need to approach with openness. We may never understand the full extent of the damage that we can cause if we interfere Jesus' process. Some people may never try to get to know Jesus again.
Be careful of what you ask for in life. It may not be what you really wanted. You can be obedient and become rich, but still lose your soul. Riches can be a blocker to God or it can be used to do some uncreditable things. Either way when you die, all of it will stay behind. You come into this world with nothing and you will exit this world with nothing.
When you ask for blessings, prepare yourself for all the responsibility that it brings. To be great, you must be a servant to all. Your blessing is meant to help you help other people get to Jesus. This is the life of a Christian. How you live your life matters. Jesus came to serve, why would we not live to serve too. We were never promised a life of honor. Without a proper Christian worldview, it will never work out.
