Live as an Example

When you become a Christians it is your responsibility to learn what God expects from you.  It doesn't happen over night, but to stay ignorant will not be excusable by God.  You are expected to work for the body of Christ.  If you are leading a church, starting a church plant, or an active missionary, then the church should pay your compensation.  You should never have to stop God's work because of money.  Devote yourself to your ministry and allow everything else work itself out.
Even if you are a doer, it may not come naturally to work for the body of Christ.  It requires stepping away from yourself to do good for other people, even rude and ungrateful people.  It means that you may have to accept what is considered unacceptable to not hinder the Gospel.  It means going to places that you may not want to go like a prison, homeless community, or even a war zone.
It is better that your body dies than to have people deprive you from working for Jesus.  If the Holy Spirit compels you, then you need to do it not matter what.  This is how you live as an example of Jesus in the world.  It is voluntary.  He is not going to force you, but you should chose to commit no matter the cost.  Woe to those that reject their calling.  They will never see their reward.
Living your life for Jesus may never give you Earthly rewards, but your soul will live free and true.  It allows you to win souls for God because people are drawn to authentic people.  You become acceptable to people for the sake of the Gospel.  There is not room or time for pride.
Run toward the commitment, not away.  Life is a marathon.  It is one day at a time.  If you didn't do so well yesterday, then give that to God and do better today.  Everyday you get a chance to start over and be better.  Your endurance get stronger.  You may be tired, but God will refresh you when you need it most.  Don't give up on your strict training because you are running toward eternity.  Don't let failure be an option.

1 Corinthians 9
