God of the Bible

 

    God of the Bible is the living God.  He is real.  He is approachable.  We can worship Him and know that it is true worship.  It is not make believe or going through the motions.  When you pray, you know He is listening and that He cares.  He is in the details.  He is constant, but gives us time to change.

    Prayer is true communication with God who created everything including you.  That means you have to listen to what He speaks to your heart and soul.  It is not a one way communication.  It is not to feel better about how your life is going.  There is no place for arrogance when you pray.  It is a place of humility.  A prayer from a proud heart will not be attended to by God.  The most humble prayer is the sinner's prayer because you really understand how badly you messed up and want to make things right with God.  This prayer is exalted and attended to immediately.

    If you chose to reject worship or even acknowledging God, then you can't be surprised when the day comes for your eternal home and you are rejected from Heaven.  This is why prayer is important now.  Prayer puts you in the presence of God in life.  It is how you get to know God and experience Him on His mercy seat.

    Do not brag about what God has given you in life or has done for you.  You are no more special than anyone, but you are precious to Him.  We all are.  On the other hand you do not have to bed, make promises that you may not be able to keep, be a somebody, or self-justified to be in God's presence.  You just need to be aware of the evil in the world and be confident that God is more powerful than that evil.  This includes the evil in your own heart.

    There is an acceptable way to worship God.  It is putting God before everything including your own comfort.  The truth may be harsh it will enforce change or taking time out of your comfort to honor Him.  It may be an act of circumcising your heart to make it more like Jesus' heart and receiving a new attitude.  It may be laying all your burdens at His feet in prayer and action.  This is an act of worship through a display of trust and faith.  

    When you go to church to worship make sure it is a church that worship and preaches about the triune and does not ignore any aspect of the Bible's truth.  Make sure it is a church that is respectful to God's Word.  It needs to be a church that is more influenced by the Bible than the world's perspective.  

    Worship is a lifestyle.  You don't have to fight for His affection.  You have it.  There is no need to be insecure or doubtful because He has you.  You just need to have faith, trust, and learn to love Him.  Don't justify yourself to God because he understands you better than you understand yourself.  He knows.  Instead just embrace Him as you are and work toward becoming more Holy.
