To know God of the Bible, you have to have worship in your heart, dedication to making time for Him, and the ability to listen. Worship is not just praise music, singing, or dancing around. Worship is mostly practical ways in life where you put God first or recognize His hand in what is happening around you.
To worship God you just need to make a few changes in your life to please God instead of other people or just yourself. Worship is not stagnant, traditions, style, or preference. It is how you chose to focus your mind: on God or anything else.
To know God you need to see God's worth and respond. When you do, then your eyes, ears, and heart open up in a whole new way. You learn evangelism, how to give, how to serve, and how to worship. A relationship with God can't be selfish. It is a response to realizing all He has given you and deciding to do your best to give back all you can. It is no longer about what God can do for you, but what you can do for God.
You can start with giving your goals in life over to God. He will open a way for them to happen or redirect you. Prayer becomes about intimacy instead of a wish list, angry out burst, or seeking for answers in life. Your heart changes from self-centered to God centered. Times of celebration, fellowship, and holiday become a form of worship.
Often quietness is overlooked as a form of worship. When you take the time to be quiet and still to read God's Word, then the Holy Spirit will respond by giving you secrets and wisdom. You approach it as education, soul strengthening, and worship in the stillness. It is amazing what the quiet can fix in life because you prioritized God over all other options.
Prayer is the key to having the relationship you want with God of the Bible. It leads to wisdom, desire, and worship. When you pray you confess your sins, praise God, waiting to hear, use the Bible for words, intercession for other people, ask for what you need, and thanksgiving. Prayer can be done in singing, meditation, being still to just listen, reading the psalms, and in praising God. It touches every aspect of life.
