If you fail in your faith, then you are faced with bitter disappointment. You can try to blame God, but the disappointment will stem from you. It is revealed through grumbling, woe is me behavior, self pity, ingratitude, and mistrust. You will never find true joy until you choose to obey God. Something will always be missing or just not right in life.
God has given you everything you need, but you have to do your part to keep it. We are not observers of out own lives. We are spiritual warriors. What are you willing to fight for? How are you willing to fight? God normally does not call us to fight with violence, but it does happen at times. He wants us to fight through faith, prayer, and our righteous words. We don't need to lower ourselves to insults. Speak His truth and that is enough.
If you mistrust God, then it shows that you have failed your faith to the point that you can't see clearly. It is a consequence meant to open our eyes and search for where we got off track. Always looking back can be crippling to your faith. It only leads to wrong thinking. Look back to see where you went wrong, repent, and then start looking forward. Let the past go. Look forward with your focus on God and you will discover a positive faithful attitude.
If you never get your faith in alignment with Jesus, then you will loose out on your promise land. We all have a promised land, but we have to walk by faith. We have to believe in Jesus. We have to embrace our suffering in His name. It will all be worth it one day. The other option is a great mourning caused by distorted view of circumstances. It will keep you from Jesus and salvation. Your circumstances do not define you unless you allow them to.
A distorted view on life comes from failing in faith. You have an idea of how life should be and nothing else will satisfy you. That is not reality. As a Christian you may wish life was easier like it was before salvation. You have to work that out with God or you will never find you joy.
You have to listen to the Holy Spirit. You have to be in the Word and allow the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and heart to truth about the world and life. Confront the truth, don't run to be victorious in your faith. The other option is to live a superficial life now and pay the consequences for eternity.
