When you understand your obligation to be a witness for God in the world, you start to see just how much He impacts your life. It gives you boldness. Your prayer life turns to evangelism. You start making God known in the world. It may be an obligation, but being a witness is a gift too.
Jesus gave his apostles the great commission to teach it to us. The power of faith was never meant to stop with them or their generation. It is a gift and obligation to everyone who wants salvation. It starts with becoming a disciple. That just means that you get into God's Word, build your prayer life, learn to apply expectation and go out to live and help others follow Jesus. You may the only link some people have to finding Jesus.
Christians it is important that we share what the Holy Spirit is teaching. Your salvation is lived out in your relationships. It starts with God, but it becomes more when you build strong relationship with other Christians.
We all need accountability partners. Men that come together to bare their soul and help each other live as Christian men is not natural in the world, but it is one of the most beautiful things to watch. Women it is more natural to come together, but finding sisters in Christ that you can share years with is another story.
Your salvation and what you do with it is your responsibility. If you don't allow God to impact your life, then you will never be able to impact anyone else's life. That is why it is a personal obligation to not stop with the gift of salvation, but to mature as a Christian.
Pray for the people that you run across and don't even know. Pray for God to give you opportunities to share you testimony or just be there for someone else. Pray for courage when life becomes a mystery. It is not easy to share your soul and be vulnerable when you don't know if the person is safe. The person may not be safe, but if the Holy Spirit prompts you there is a reason.
Trust that God will take care of you and use your words to impact them. Clarity is nice, but is not always present. Embrace the power that God has given you to speak and allow the Holy Spirit to guide your words, body language, and actions. All you have to do is share the Gospel.
Another sign of God's Impact in your life is understanding the value of having a Godly character. How you live your life tells more of your testimony than any words that come out of your mouth. It tells the world if you are a Christian or playing church. Be intentional to live wisely in the world because it does influence you. Pray that you influence the world more than it influences you.
People in the world are watching. They are taking note. You will leave them convicted or convinced that Christianity is all a lie. If you live hypocritically, then the world will be confused about what following Jesus is all about. You need wisdom to be a witness and make split second decisions that impact lives. If you are impacted by God, then you will impact lives. If not, then the Christian act is just for show.
All your interactions are opportunities to share Jesus with the world. The only thing is you may be caught up in getting what needs to be done, other people, or stuck in your own mind. It happens to everyone, but that is why we need to pray to be open and search for people to talk to instead of shy away.
How you react to life reveals where your heart is in the moment. You can be a genuine Christian and not react well all the time. Pray over it, learn from it, and then move on. Be transparent when you mess up and allow those watching to see you actively trying to change it. You have triggers, but you have to work through them with God. Work with God to have Him remove them, so that you can have more impact in the world.
