God is patient, kind, and good. However, when He has enough of people acting like fools, He really displays His power. His power is beautiful, artistic, magnificent, and can be scary. His power created this world and all that is beautiful and good in it. He designed it all. He gave people imagination as a gift. However, His power can also cause destruction.
God is interested in righteousness. He wants a relationship with every person, but if we push Him away and insult all that He created and who He is, then He will make Himself known. God cares more about you than the environment or even His animals. He will destroy all of it to get your attention. Sin always leads to destruction. The destruction that God inflicts on this earth can't be blamed on Him. It is our fault. He chose you and if you rejected Him, then what comes next is on you. It has always been that way.
Adam and Eve ignored God's command and they were expelled from Eden and eventually died. God's people turned from Him roughly 10 generations later and God brought a catastrophic flood that changed the way the world looked and everything in it.
Noah was the only preacher of righteousness. No one listened to him, but he was persistent. He never stopped doing as God directed him even if it made him look crazy. The only ones that listened to Noah was his own immediate family: wife, three sons, and their wives. The condition of the human heart was exposed for 120 years as he preached judgment that would come.
The judgment came in the form of a flood. God gave people plenty of time to change. He gave time for Noah to complete the Ark of salvation from the flood. He gave Noah time to save animal, plant, and human life. This one flood brought total destruction as it spent 150 days reshaping the world.
There is evidence found of this flood today throughout historical findings and cultures. Geological evidence is found in fossils. Some were found on mountain tops still showing signs of drowning. The age of the earth can't be defined by the soil because a catastrophic event can place layers upon layers in minutes of different texture, density, and minerals in the soil.
The ark is what saved humanity and life in that time. Jesus is our ark today. He is the only salvation that we have. Death will come. We can't change that fact. Eternity will happen. We have a choice to be a fool and ignore God or follow Jesus faithfully and accept salvation. It is wise to choose the path that leads to eternal safety. It is wise to accept the gift of righteousness that only Jesus gives.
