Amad

Amad in Hebrew is āmaḏ (עָמַד) which means "to stand".  The name outside the Bible may mean eternal people. It is not found in any of the Biblical languages.  In Latin it is amare.
Amad is a person in the Bible that is highlighted only once for God's faithfulness.  His story represents the importance of obedience and God's care for His people.  We need to trust in God's promises and His commands.  You will only find him in Genesis
The allotted land that went to the Asher tribe was the fifth of the twelve to be allotted.  It had many cities and the boundaries were clearly set.  Here Amad is a city listed where the Asher Tribe would live.  It was one of 22 towns and their surrounding villages.

Joshua 19:24-31
