When a person is young and they step out into a leadership position, it can be intimidating at times. Most of the people are older than the young leader. They see this inexperienced person and want to guild them or take over for them. They believe they know what is best. The young leader needs to be strong and stand behind their vision.
Timothy was a young leader that had been mentored by Paul himself. He was a young man with a good reputation. Paul help develop the young man's abilities. Timothy was in a unique position because his mother was a Jewish believer and his father a Greek. Paul encouraged Timothy to be circumcised so that the Greek Jews would accept him. Once the formality was complete, Timothy was able to strengthened the church. Timothy has the respect of one of the most influencial people in history. A person that help mold him to be a great leader.
A young leader needs to follow God without hesitation. They need to go where ever the Holy Spirit leads them, so to never grieve Him. When you are willing to listen, but stand firm in your beliefs, then you can accomplish so much. Leadership is more than being in the spot light. It is taking the time to make others better. It is molding young people to become a person with influence and power. It is helping others succeed. (Acts 16:1-10)
6 "They went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia; they had been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia. 7 When they came to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them. 8 Passing by Mysia they went down to Troas. 9 During the night Paul had a vision in which a Macedonian man was standing and pleading with him, “Cross over to Macedonia and help us!” 10 After he had seen the vision, we immediately made efforts to set out for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them." Acts 16: 6-10 (CSB)
