When we die to sin, then we should stop the sin that we are aware that we commit. Then we go to God in prayer to seek the unknown sin. By doing this we become alive deep within our soul and God's grace is displayed in a more noticeable format. We shake off the chains of guilt, burdens of life, and anything else that holds us down.
After we accept salvation, we should take the next step which is baptism. When we go down into the water we publicly die to sin, wash it away, and arise to a new life. Baptism is a vow before God and all your witnesses that you will no longer be a slave to sin. You are declaring that death is no longer your master.
You may still have evil desires. Don't ignore them to try to be the Christian that you think you should be or that other people tell you to be. Face them and deal with them with God directing the path. He will provide people to help if it is needed. The goal is to leave no sin in your life. After all, if you do, what will be your excuse on judgment day.
Grace gives you righteousness. It is your responsibility to uphold that righteousness. Sin leads to death and obedience to God leads to life. Your body is Holy, treat as so and you will see Holiness all around you and enter eternal life with confidence. Jesus is our salvation gift. If you have any questions on what it should look like for you, then you can go directly to Him. Walk confidently in your new life.
