Acts of Righteousness

A truly righteous person does things that are good and right, but not to be noticed by people.  A righteous person will give to the poor and provide for the needs of people without the need to announce it.  It is a righteousness act because it is done in secret.  If you receive the praise or rewards from man, then God does not need to bless you.  It is always nice to be noticed, but it is better to have the blessings of God.
A righteous person prays to have a conversation with God, not for the ears of people.  Prayer is about intimacy, not to sound like you know what you are doing.  God appreciates corporate prayer, but he wants you to go somewhere private so that you can hear His voice.  He knows your needs, so don't make that your primary purpose in going to Him.  You need to recognize who He is and talk about what you are thankful for, pray for others, ask for forgiveness, and release from temptation.  There are no limits.
A righteous person fast without making it noticable.  It can be difficult because you are fatigued and many of us get hangry.  When the hunger comes and people become extra annoying turn it over to prayer.  Keep yourself looking fresh and keep up a good attitude.  Otherwise, you draw attention to you and may miss the blessings that you would receive from the fast.
A righteous person understand that all the true treasures are in Heaven.  All your things can be taken, destroyed, or time just affects them.  What you get in Heaven is eternal.  You will invest your time, energy, and money into where your heart lies.  Your acts reveal to the world how righteous you are.
A Righteous person understands that no one can serve two master.  You are serving God's purpose or Satan's purpose like it or not.  They chose God, so they do not worry about tomorrow.  They understand that God will provide for their NEEDS and probably many of their wants.  Worry reveals a lack of faith.  Each day has it's own challenges, so just focus on today and let God prepare for tomorrow.  Be a light in the dark world today.
