Law Fulfilled

Many people believe that when the Messiah came or will come to finish or terminate the law.  That just is not true.  He came to fulfill the law.  His existence on Earth made the law reasonable or understandable.  The law became revealed boundaries and the standards of God.  It is meant to allow us to live in respectful peace with each other.  The other purpose is to reveal to us our weaknesses and sinful nature.  Only a relationship with Jesus can give you that blessed gift or real righteousness.
We may no longer be tied down to the law, but if we break it there are still consequences for the human side of things.  If you murder, then you will be judged.  However, in God's eye's murder is heart felt anger toward another person.  Who can say that they are not guilty of that?   If you have conflict in your life with another, God wants you to resolve the conflict before coming to Him with your offerings or sacrifices, so take care of it quickly.  That way your relationship with Him can be restored.
Adultery is looking at another person with lust in your heart, so remove anything in your life that will distract you from you pursuing pure relationships.  Divorce is only acceptable through marital unfaithfulness.  If you get divorced for any other reason, then you do not have the right to remarry until your ex-spouse is dead.  It is important to keep your word in all manners, so don't take a promise lightly.  You don't want to be tied to evil.
When people wrong you, be strong and turn the other cheek.  It may look weak to the world, but it takes all you have to do good to those who chose evil.  However, you never know how God will use it.  It is even harder to love your enemies.  The only way you will ever accomplish this is through prayer.  Pray for those who persecute you.  By doing this you will be made perfect in God's image because how you live is teaching the world the law of God.

Matthew 5: 17-48
