God holds all the power of the universe. It is amazing that He chooses to display His power in the little things or through us. He makes decisions that will affect people over time. His big picture is bigger than anything we can even contemplate.
He chooses to harden people's hearts to get things into motion. He created us. We are His, so He has the right to do with us as He sees fit. However, on your worst day count your blessings. You probably don't have it as bad a Job or Jesus did.
If God is willing to send His own son to suffer for all people, then how can we believe that we are so special that we should never experience pain, hardship, or even suffering. He is so patient with us. Look for His mercy that is there even in the hard times. Look at Moses, Hosea and Isaiah.
We get righteousness through faith. You cannot get it on your own. You cannot pursue it because you don't even know where to start looking. You have to let Him show you through faith. Put all your trust into Him because He will never lead you to shame.
