When children are born, they are usually enter the world with people surrounding them that love them and want to protect them. As they get older they learn things about where they come from that have help mold them into whom they are becoming. No one comes into this world knowing who they are and what they will become. No one that is except Jesus.
I believe Jesus knew exactly who He was when He came into this world. He understood His genealogy. That is why the Gospels begin there. He understood the importance of tying it all together for other people to see and understand the importance. Jesus' Mother, Mary, was from the line of David. Joseph and Mary both came from the line of Abraham and David. They had record for 28 generations.
They were engaged when the Holy Spirit came and turned their lives upside down. It had to be that way. Jesus had to come from a virgin worthy of Him. I think she was partially chosen because of who her fiancee was. Joseph was a righteous man who treated her well even when he thought she cheated on him.
Together they did their part to fulfill the prophecy that saves everyone who wants to be saved. Together they had a son named Immanuel, known as Jesus. I believe that Joseph loved Jesus as much as one of his own children. After all he was there from the beginning and never left either of their sides. Joseph and Mary kept the marriage sex free until after the birth displaying love and respect for each other and God.
