Winning Disguised

It is hard to continue doing the right thing, the Biblical thing, when you feel like you can't win.  It is can be exhausting going against the current of society.  It takes grit.  Sometimes this grit requires you to let other things go, so that you can be true to God.
This is what Jesus did in His trials.  He had the power to use His words to stop it all, but He was determined to let it run its course.  In His trial, He was honest.  The people in authority could not find any fault with Him and wanted to let Him go.  However, they did not have the gritty integrity it took to stand against the people.
The outcome was that they allowed a murderous villain, named Barabbas, go free instead of Jesus.  All appearances showed Jesus had been defeated.  Jesus was going to be crucified and all the leaders washed their hands of the guilt.  Jesus had to endure so many trials, so that no one person would be responsible.  What they did not realize, is that it made the story better known around the world throughout time.  That means His ultimate victory would be more powerful.
Today, it seems like society has beaten Jesus down again.  They mock Him.  They destroy everything He lived and died for.  It was bad enough when people tried to destroy His purity by saying He had relations with Mary Madeline.  Now, they have a movie out that declares that He was gay to mock Christianity.
It is disturbing on so many levels.  I have had to take more than a moment to mull over this blasphemy.  I am decided not to worry over it because I know who Jesus is.  I know that this evil will be turned around and sometime soon He will show His victory over this evil.  It may appear that Christians have lost, but we are strong when we stick close to Jesus and together.
