Unity Expectations

    Unity is a nice concept.  It is meant to be a group of people to come together to follow, confess, and worship God.  There are several things that can break or disturb unity.  It comes down to the fact that we have to work with each other to live in unity.  That means sometimes it is not about us, but what is best for everyone else.

    God took unity serious.  That is why He made His expectations clear in Leviticus.  The unclean were not allowed to stay in the community.  Only the pure could approach Him.  There are several ways that defile the purity that God demands.

    If you wrong a person, you need to make restitution before returning to God.  He considering wronging others the same as wronging Him.  Guilt has to be removed before you can come before Him again.

    Unfaithfulness is among some of the most harmful behavior.  It is sinning against your own body and hurting those who love you most.  If it was suspected and not actually proven, then the one that suspected had to make an offering with a priest. If it was proven, then the partner was cursed. 

    Basically, if you suspect, humble yourself to pray for the suspected partner.  God desires marriage to be united and never separated.  However, we live in a fallen and dangerous world.  He understands that, but He wants you to do all you can to save this bonded unity.  Don't let jealousy to lead you to sin.
