Allotment Part 2

Allotments need to be written out for all to see.  Today, we turn them into contracts where there are witnessed and have legal representation to keep things honest.  It is sad that we no longer live in a world where your word is sufficient.
Allotments should be written out in detail including what is present.  Today, we can go to the local courthouse and see it written out and signed.  In Joshua's allotments he even mentioned the people that were not removed and turned into slaves.  It also allowed the daughters of Zelophehad to have their father's land since he had no sons.  Details are important even if they appear annoying or redundant.
Joshua did all he could for his people.  He knew that some of the allotted land was still inhabited by pagans that needed to be run out or destroyed.  He was just too old to hold their hand through the process.  They were too old to go to him like children expecting him to fix everything.  He told them to work it out.  What he needed was a protogy like he was to Moses.
Allotment may be an inheritance or a blessing.  That does not mean that you don't have to work to make it your own. You will have to work to make things the way you want them.

Joshua 16 &17
