A Leader's Support Staff

Any good leader has a group around them that they can trust.  It is a group that brings a different perspective and diversity in a good and respectful way.  They are the people that enable the leader to focus on what matters in their position.  The support staff's job is to enable the leader to do their best, bring out the best, and support the leader even if they do not agree all the time.  It is not about the promotion that may or may not ever come.
David was a good leader that put his life on the line for his people.   He pushed back the Philistines.  He fought the Moabites and killed 2/3 of them.  The 1/3 that survived became subjects.  I say subjects because they were the lower class, but they were not necessarily servants.  David even treated the servants well, so it would have been a good time to be a prisoner of war.
David defeated the Arameans that had assisted King of Zobah.  God always enabled David to win and have a lot of bounty to care for the nation from those wins.  David had his own support staff to help him, but he was God's support staff as the King of Israel.  As David became more and more famous, he gave God the glory.
David was a just and fair king that hired or enlisted people he trusted to be his support staff.  Joab was the commander of the army.  He did not loose his position for acting on revenge, but he did lose respect.  Jehoshaphat recorded the history with honesty and integrity.  After all it is said history is according to whom won.  He made sure errors were recorded too, so the truth became history.
Zadok and Ahimelech were the head priest that would counsel David and lead the nation spiritually.  Seaiah was the royal secretary.  His job was to keep David focused and balance his schedule.   Benaiah was over the Kerethites and Pelehites.  The princes even became part of the support staff.  They became the royal advisors or chief officials.  This was a vital role because they were out in the real world and David relied on their reports on how the people were really doing.
