What Will History Say about You?

Have you every taken a little time to think about what people will say about you when you are gone?  How will you be remembered?  Will people even bother to miss you?  Would anyone take the time to write anything about you?   Have you considered writing up your own memoirs, so that if anyone wanted to know you they could?
King David was a kings with a particularly unique story.  He came from nothing from the human perspective and became the greatest known king in Christian History.  He basically named Jerusalem.  It was called Jebus, but when he conquered it, it became Jerusalem.  However because that is the city he made his home, it was called the City of David.
David was never thinking about being famous or popular.  He was focused on God and doing right by the people that followed him.  He built up the city to make it a safe place for anyone whom chose to live there.  David was powerful because that is how God wanted him to be.
David used his power for the greater good and it inspired people.  He inspired his men to be great and made sure that they would not be forgotten.  David was able to inspire people because God inspired him.  You can't bring things out in other people if you don't possess them for yourself.
How do you want to be remembered?  What are you doing today to make sure that you are remembered in that way?  Are you all over the place or are you driven toward one focus?   You have to figure out what you want before anyone else can help you be the person you want to be.  The best and quickest way is to go to God.  He will direct you.  He will point out where you need work and where your strengths are.
