Deeds

When we are dead we will be remembered for our deeds or what we did in our life.  That is how the world judges and set standards.  God judges the heart and what motivates the deeds.  We all leave a legacy.  The questions we have to ask ourselves is how we want to be remembers and why is that important to you?
Solomon was known as the wisest person that has ever lived.  To some that might not mean anything, but to others that can be an inspiration.  Solomon worked hard his entire life and tried to do good by everyone.  He built upon what his father had left him instead of being selfish or destroying it.  He prospered, but he helped others prosper too.
He invested 20 years in making God's temple a reality.  Around the same time he was building his own palace.  His deeds invited God into Jerusalem and made the city flourish.  He rebuilt the territory in which he reigned.
Solomon did have slaves, but he made sure that non of them were Israelites.  He made the foreigners and losers of war the slaves.  He knew that the work could not be done without a labor force.  I am not saying I agree with slavery at all, but he did do his best to treat them well.
Solomon invested into people.  He spent time building up 250 chiefs officials.  He was careful to keep God's commandments and work along with the church.  He invested the money into growing his nation's economy.
The deeds of Solomon made people's lives better, not worse.  He is a good leader to look at when you are questioning on taking care of yourself over the needs of others.  Work through your life ambitions through prayer and using the Bible for guidance.  The answers are in there, you just have to put in the work to find it.
