Leadership is recorded throughout history. What the previous leaders leaves for the next leader does matter. Looking back throughout history we can learn how to be a good leader or a bad leader where we are in our life today.
King David had his flaws, but mostly in his personal life. He was the leader that set the mark for how to be a good leader. He knew he was a king because that is what God wanted. He had perspective on who he was and where he was from. He knew where he wanted his nation to grow.
On the flip side, he had many wives and children. It was a blessing, but more than one wife really is more than what one man can handle well. It was the women in his life that had great influence on some of the good and evil that he did.
King David sought God on all his major decisions that applied to being a warrior. He was the most famous king of his time. He may be one of the most famous kings that have withstood history. Study his life and see where he failed and how he handled that failure. Look at how he succeeded and how he handled his success. See how he was as successful as he was because he listened to God.
