What is Christianity if it is just words? It is dead. We have a to live, breath, exist for what we declare we believe. We can tell people that we are Christians, but if our appearance, attitude, or actions do not reflect what we say, then we are not convincing anyone. On top of that it insults God's majesty in the world. We all have our very human days, but we need to watch out and make sure that it doesn't become a pattern.
Jotham became king when he was 25. He reigned for 16 years doing good works and following God. However, he did not lead his people to follow God. He allowed them to stay in their sin without pointing out that it was wrong. The most important job as a leader is to educate, train, and lead people toward God and encourage them in the job they are performing.
King Jotham was powerful and a good man. Over all, he was a good leader. What made him stand out more than his forefathers was the fact that he did walk steadfast. His steadfastness earned him strength to do what needed to be done for his nation. He did not falter in his later years and turn toward evil ways. He was 41 when he died and his son Ahaz became the King of Judah.
