Satan Attacks

 

    Satan is real.  He is an angel that invented evil.  His whole existence is about trying to overthrow God and destroy God's creation.  People are his main target.  He learned a lot from God.  He uses the fact that people do no believe as his weapon.  However, we know no matter how bad it may get, Satan has already been defeated.  

    Job was a righteous man when there was really no righteousness in the world.  He chose to shun evil and live with integrity.  God rewarded him with worldly wealth and prosperity.  His family on the other hand were not noble characters.  He had seven sons and three daughters that lived like the rest of the world around them.  Job would pray and give offerings on their behalf.

    One day, Satan came with the other angels to present themselves to God.  He had been roaming the world and knew pretty much everything about it.  

    God began to speak about how Job was a honorable man.  Satan threw back that of course Job worshipped God.  Job had an easy life, why would he ever turn away from God, but if God took all that away from Job, then Job would turn away from God.

    God wanted to teach Satan a lesson, so He allowed Satan to take everything that Job owned away from him, but not to touch the man.  Satan was thrilled with this challenge.  He loves inflicting pain, so it was a win win for him.  Satan was not slow to act.  He took everything in one day.  The donkeys escaped. the sheep burn from fire that fell from the sky, camels stolen, and almost all his servants were slaughtered.  Satan took away Job's wealth.  

    To loose so much in one day would have been devastating, but then on top of that in the same day all his children were killed together.  Satan likes to go big when he can.  However, Job still worshipped God.  He did not turn away.  He did not sin in his pain or anger.  He did not charge God with any wrongdoing.  He really was a righteous man.  I bet that made Satan really angry.
