To have confidence in God is to understand you own limitations. It is believing that all the good things about you are gifts from Him. It is acknowledging that He created you just as you are. We are created to make decisions, but we need relationships to keep going. We have the mental capability to choose who we let into our lives and hearts. Our relationship with God is the most important relationship to choose.
When your heart starts searching for God, then He becomes your refuge. In that refuge you start to gain understanding. Your heart begins to change and it opens up to care for all the lost in the world. You realize that you are wearing your heart on your sleeve. It is vulnerable and you have to have confidence that God will protect it.
God has given every person a purpose in this world. It is our job to figure it out and craft it. Use your gifts to build boundaries for your self and your relationships, so not to be over burdened or burn out.
To trust God is to listen to His counsel and His people's counsel with discernment. It is choosing to love people that you don't like. To do all you can to see what God sees in them. When you finally get there, then you can have song in your heart and security of peace of mind.
Having confidence in God is to not fear death. It is understanding that once you die, that He will keep His promise and take your soul to be with Him forever. You will live in permanent security in Heaven. You will never be separated from Him again. You will never be sad, afraid, in pain, depressed, or tired again.
Psalm 16
