It would have been interesting to be able to talk with Solomon. He tried to teach people how to love well through Proverbs. The last two chapters were proverbs on how to think about the kind of person you want to be. Today is a continuation, but you have to really want to be wise to be able to continue. This is a summary of the chapter. Each verse has a positive and a negative, I am writing about the positive.
If you love discipline, then you love to learn and gain understanding. Love is how you gain God's favor which is never uprooted or weak. Love gives you strength. It gives you security and provides for you when you are in need.
To embrace God's wisdom is to learn how to speak upright. It is understanding that you can be a no body in this world, but you are wealthy in love. A person that has love in their heart cares for animals and the people weaker than themselves. They work hard and are productive.
Wisdom is to obtained by listening to advice and overlooking insults. It gives you an honest testimony. The words that comes from a wise person brings healing and lifts a burdened spirit. Their words are of God and will endure forever. Their heart is full of joy that promotes peace. Their character is righteous and protected by God who delights in honest people.
Love's wisdom gives you the sense on when to keep your mouth shut and when to speak. Not all knowledge needs to be shared. It can cause unnecessary pain. Instead use your words to to be kind. Choose your friends with care because they have more influence on you than you realize. You need each other to move forward toward eternity.
