Friendship in a marriage is important. It doesn't matter so much how the marriage began as long as you find your way to being two people unified against the world. The strongest marriages are when the couple are best friends. Then you add in a fun sex life and you have a great marriage. Solidify the marriage in the armor of God and it can become indestructible.
Sex gives the couple an euphoric feeling. It is something special between them that is not to be shared with anyone else. As the saying goes "what happens in the bedroom stays in the bedroom". There are certain things in a marriage that is just between the couple and should not be shared with other people.
You can talk to your close friends about more intimate things, but not everything. They can be support and provide counsel when there are problems or insecurities, but you need to be careful in whom you take counsel. The general rule is the more you are intimate with your spouse the more confident you will become and the more you will want to be intimate.
You may find your spouse flawless, but do you really want to bring that kind of attention to your friends. You don't want your friends seeing your spouse the way you do. You want your friends to respect and like, but never desire your spouse. That leads to all sort of problems.
Each day is a new day in your marriage. It is a learning experience in all the stages of life. Each day make a little effort to make the home life pleasant or unified and it will become stronger. It does take two. You can only do so much on your own.
Marriage is lifetime commitment, so you should do all you can to make it work well. Treat each other with loving respect. Don't tear down your spouse, but try to build them up to be what you need. You can't change them, but you can help them see themselves in a new light. Tell them their good qualities. Let them know you love them and why.
