Cush was a powerful city that was seated by the sea. It was divided from the rest of the land by rivers. They had swift boats. They were a nation feared. Even their language sounded strange to God's people. Today it is Ethiopia.
God remained quiet as He watched until the day He cast judgment on them. He was pruning His tree of life and they were some of the branches that were cut off. They lost their home and Stronghold. They were at the mercy of the mountain to be prey to birds and wild animals. They went from strong and confident to a place where they didn't know how to defend themselves.
The Cushites eventually turn to God with their gifts. Cush was an aggressive nation. That may have it's place, but it never leads to real peace. Aggressive may get people to turn to God, but what happens to the aggressor once they serve their purpose?
God waits patiently, but He will not sit by and allow evil run rapid. Christians made a covenant. We are to fight against evil in His name. We are to trust that He will take care of evil. We see where He did in the past, why would He no now?
