Depravity is to be morally corrupt. It is when a person embraces wickedness into their lives and heart. A person is considered depraved when they reject everything of God for their own selfishness. When it comes to a nation being depraved, it enforces God's judgment.
When people push God out of their world for so long, their judgment on honesty and seeking the truth becomes more difficult. They refuse to be corrected and are as stone in their heart. This is foolishness because no one is perfect even in a godless society. This is when the definition of depravity is displayed for all to see and understand.
In a Godless nation, even the so called spiritual leaders become corrupted. They forget what God requires of their position. Their people become more and more depraved and God will judge them for that. The people rebel and backslide further and further away from God as they live unfaithfully. Why should God forgive anyone? The only reason is that He is true to His promises.
God's words consumes sin like fire. We live in sin, but when God tries to purify and remove sin we get all mad at Him like He is the one that caused it. We accuse Him of forsaking us when we were the ones that forsook Him. It is time to open our eyes and ears to the truth. God gave His people everything and it was abused, so He withheld His blessings until they acknowledge their guilt. He keeps trying to get people to understand.
A stubbornly rebellious heart turns from God. The sinful heart deprives it of all the good. The wicked wait to ensnare others to suffer as they suffer. They are full of deceit. Their evil has no limits. They will seek to prey upon weak, poor, and innocent. How could God not punish this. He has already promised to protect those that can't protect themselves and have no other protection.
When the spiritual leaders turn out to be filthy liars it is shocking. They lead under their own rotten authority. God does not endorse lies, betrayal, or disloyalty. People follow because they tell them what they want to hear instead of a truth that will stinge or anger now, but save them in the long run. People want to stay where they are. They are comfortable, so they don't want a leader that will strip them from their comfort zone. It is absolutely horrifying to imagine the future in the perspective of depravity.
