Drama of Exile

Ezekiel's Visions were like dramatic movies.  Sometimes they were easily interpreted, but not always.  Imagine visions of a future where things don't even exist yet.  Kind of like a scary rated R version of back to the future, but hundreds or thousands years before now.  The Vision of the exile was easier to interpret, but just as dramatic.
Ezekiel had lived among the rebellious people.  They had ears, but did not hear.  They had eyes, but did not see what God was trying to teach them.  He told Ezekiel to pack his things and be ready for the exile.  When in exile maybe then Israel would understand.  Ezekiel did exactly as he was ordered.
In the morning, he told the people that he was a sign for them since they had been watching what he was doing and were curious.  Be careful what you ask. You may not always really want the truth.  The truth was that they would be exiled to Babylon where they would die.  Most would die violent deaths before ever having a chance to reach there.
Some people would be spared if they acknowledged who God is.  The survivors would scatter to tell the world about their detestable ways and the cost.  They had to acknowledge that it was their sin that got them to where they were, not God.
Israel needed to be afraid and feel the impact of Ezekiel's words.  The day of visions were coming to an end because the proverbs behind them will be fulfilled.  God was going to remove all the false visions and proven as lies.  His messages are always fulfilled.  He was not going to delay the inevitable any longer.
