Prophecy Against Tyre

The city had been the most powerful of the Phoenician cities.  The name even meant strength.  In Hebrew Tyre means rock.  They had even joined Judah to fight against the Babylonian Empire for 13 years.  It was Alexander the Great that defeated Tyre in 4th century.
Tyre was city condemned to God's judgment and destruction.  It was destroyed and it's legendary towers came down.  The soil became bare rock making it where a person could not grow anything.  The city was plundered as a display for other nations as the people were slaughtered.
Babylon invaded Tyre and death consumed the city to put terror in the hearts of all who heard.  The Babylonians destroyed everything they saw to the point that the city could never be rebuilt.  The destruction they caused was like the power of the sea, but when they were done God then sent the water to cover everything.  Tyre fell into the sea and the people died.  Their splendor turned to terror as the city itself was lost forever.
