Purified Peace

 

    You may feel weak, frail, or like the world is happening around you.  God can turn that around.  He can make you strong.  God's enemy may be glorified right not, but He will conquer over that.  He will be glorified throughout the world.  The corrupt and cruel leaders will fall and be humiliated.

    Micah's ministry was a preparation for Jesus.  He knew that the ultimate ruler would be born in Bethlehem from the family of David. He will rule heaven and earth.  What Micah didn't understand is that it would not look like what everyone expected.  The way people rule and the way God rules is very different.  Jesus rules through salvation and purification.  He brought a new peace that is eternal.  

    The way of Jesus saves the world and all who are in it, if they want.  You will rise above your enemy when you find your rescue.  You will be able to see your enemy destroyed.  Confidence in your own strength will disappear and you will discover real strength and power.  The day that people feel like they are in control will be over.  The peace that we will have will not be tainted by evil people or experiences, divination, idolatry, or anything else that could be judged.  That will all be destroyed. 

    The Day of the Lord is a day that once it is over death and destruction will be removed.  All that tethers us to this world will be removed.  Evil will be removed and the world will be purified.  It will be a day of vengeance and wrath for God, but what comes out of that is a pure world that will finally understand who God is.
