Violence

Violence in life has a way of bringing violence.  It seems like a horrible cycle that is very hard to break and usually leads to a horrible end.  Some people take pride in violence.  Some people try to overcome violence.  Some people try to escape violence.   How do we destroy violence?  I believe God is the only one that will ultimately destroy it to the point where one day no one will remember what it is.
Nineveh heard Nahum and prepared to be attacked.  It was needless efforts because no one can fight God's decision once it is made.  At the same time, can you just lay there and not try to change things.  I believe that if they had chosen to submit like with Jonah, that God would have stopped His plans of destruction again.  However, they prepared for violence instead of peace.  Violence begets violence.
The people of Nineveh had to watch as what they cherished was taken away or destroyed.  The messengers were silenced.  All they had was their violence which led to God's wrath.  They experienced violence that God allowed: desolation, decimation, and devastation.  There is no way that they were not impacted by this.  Yet, they didn't understand the root of it all.  This led to death.  No one can fight God's armies.

Nahum 2
